Since both middle schools sit on the same campus our district developed the “balanced enrollment design” as a way to assign students to the appropriate middle school. Essentially approximately ½ of the students from each elementary school are assigned to each middle school. This happens in second grade.
If students move into the district after 2nd grade they are assigned to a building the following September. The end result being by the time the students start 6th grade the buildings have the same number of students (plus or minus 1). This allows us to avoid discussions of boundaries which is great because we are a district that still has potential for growth based on the amount of open land in the school district.
All siblings are grandfathered into the building of the oldest sibling. Once a family enrolls at central office they will be contacted by the middle school campus with information regarding placement. If you have any additional questions regarding how the balanced enrollment design process works, please contact either middle school for more information.
