Attention 6th graders. Today our schedule for 6th grade is different than 7th and 8th grade in order to allow all 6th graders to see a preview of the 6th grade play. Teachers please make sure to review this schedule with the students so they understand where to go at the end of each period. This is especially important at the end of the day. Students when you go to PE at the end of the day we want you to take your back pack to go home. We will have you leave your back packs in the PE wing during the play preview. If you are coming to the show tonight or tomorrow it begins at 7:00 and is free to students with your ID. Please make sure to tell your parents the show should be over by 8:15.

Attention wrestlers, practice begins on Monday. You must have an updated physical on file. If you are not sure if you have an updated physical on file then please check in the main office today.


Picture Re-takes will be next week on Friday, October 27th during all lunch periods. Be sure to bring your old packet with you to have your picture retaken. You will also have your picture taken if you missed picture day in August.


The Variety Show is looking for singers, dancers, musicians, gymnasts, comedians, MC’s and all talent!!! The variety show is open to all grades so sign up in the main office for an audition time. The first audition is Monday!

Make your plans now to see The Snow White Variety Show tonight or tomorrow night at 7:00 PM in the Cafeteria. Students get in free with their student ID and tickets for all others are only $5 at the door. The doors open at 6:30. Break a leg, Snow White Variety Show cast! You’ll be great!

Any 8th grade students who are interested in attempting to beat the faculty in the student/ faculty volleyball game on October 27th see Mrs. Benhart in room 112 for a permission slip. You must have a physical on file.

Next week is Red Ribbon Week! Geneva South’s theme is “Your Future is Key, So Stay Drug Free.” Each day will be a color theme and we will start with RED. So wear your red on Monday from head to toe! How red can YOU go?

Students and staff are also encouraged to donate food for our annual Food drive during Red Ribbon Week. Some families do not have enough money to feed their family. There is a community food pantry here in Geneva that is open to anyone who needs a little help. This pantry gives out 250 bags of groceries every month. Help feed the hungry. Food items should be dropped off in your team center. Collection begins on Monday.

The first chess club match is this Tuesday after school in the GMSN library. If you just want to watch to check it out, that's ok too. All levels are welcome. It's never too late to join chess club!
