From the Sports Desk:

The 7th grade basketball team had mixed results yesterday against Geneva North.  The A team couldn’t survive the onslaught of North hitting nine 3-pointers and lost 46-43.  The B team used a full court press to take a 4th quarter lead and win by four points.  Both teams will advance to next week’s conference tournament with 7-1 conference records and are the number one seed on both the A and B level.  Congratulations to both teams for their regular season play this year.

The 8th grade B team matched up against North last night at the high school.  The bright lights didn't faze Joah Thielk or Graham Borden as they played their best games of the year.  The Vikings needed one more quarter to complete their comeback.  After trailing by 10 at half, the Vikings came within 4 points in the 4th quarter.

The 8th grade A team had a tremendous game of their own.  After being down 7 with 3 minutes to go, the South Vikings battled back to take the lead by 1 with 50 seconds left.  Unfortunately North hit a big 3 as South lost in dramatic fashion.  The entire team chipped in and battled.  Daniel Alworth, Chris Sueger, Alex Monroy, and Logan Mourek helped lead the charge offensively.

Attention music students: Today is a choir day.
