 Viking Girls Basketball The 8th grade girls came out to an early lead against the Wredling Redhawks last night. The scoring was balanced as Kate Palmer led with 10 points and Kelly McClougan and Bella Walton both chipped in 8. Sydney Schertzer and Grace Sowers hit big buckets down the stretch to extend the lead. With a minute and a half left in regulation the Vikings were up 40-14 until the RedHawks put on a full court press and went on a six point run. Fortunately the Vikings were able to hold on and won by a final score of 42-20. 

The 7th grade A Basketball team traveled to Wredling last night and did not come home victorious. The team played very well in the first half but unfortunately could not continue the high level of play for the whole game. Reece Clark had the play of the game for the Vikings with an AND ONE!

The Vikings final home game of the season is on Tuesday, Standing room only tickets are still available please see Mr. Kramer.

The 7th grade B team beat Wredling last night despite missing 2 of their players. Everyone played great all game long. Shout-outs go to Landry Johnson, Breanna Liner, and Andrea Ramirez.

Attention all Art club members, the first meeting is next Tuesday February 21st after school in the art room from 3:30-4:20. Please bring your permission slip and fee, see Mrs. Bradac with questions.

A special field trip for the 8th grade class is being planned. Join your classmates for 2 hours at Epic Air! Its another great opportunity to make some great memories with your classmates. For only $15 you can join your 8th grade classmates for 2 hours of jump time including transportation and your very own pair of Gripper Socks. A signed parental waiver is required and must be turned in with the permission slip and fee to your Social Studies teacher by Friday, February 24th. See your Social Studies teacher for more info.

The Oscars are coming. Are you ready to walk the red carpet? Do you have interest in film making, broadcasting, acting, or being a makeup artist? Come to the first meeting of the GMS Media Club in the Book Nook during your lunch hour on Monday, February 27th. This new club is open to 7th and 8th graders. See Mrs. Kimball or Mrs. Educate for more information.

Girls, Are you looking for a fun activity to join this Spring? Girls on the Run is starting at North on February 28th for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls. Pick up a flyer in the main office and join the team for fun activities that will prepare you to walk, skip, or run an end of the season 5k. You do not need to love running or be a runner to love this activity!

March Madness is right around the corner! Please come and join us on Tuesday, March 7th from 6:30-7:30 p.m.for our next GMS YA book club meeting where we will be discussing the book Crossover by Kwame Alexander. This exciting book is the story about two brothers who are basketball standouts with dreams of the NBA and their highs and lows on and off the court. Free pizza and drinks will be served that night. See Mrs. Kimball or Mrs. Falkos for more information. Pick up permission slips in the library.
