2016 Innovation and Technology Forum

Please Join Us at our 2016 Innovation & Technology Forum

With the world evolving so rapidly, many adults have no idea how different school is today than when they were in school. In Geneva, we have been working hard to cultivate a culture of risk-taking and innovation that builds the kind of creative and adaptive thinking that students will need to thrive in the new world of work. If you think about it, we are preparing our students for jobs that in all likelihood don’t even exist yet. Social Media Manager and Front End Developer were most certainly not job titles even just a couple decades ago. We can only imagine what is to come.

On Wednesday, October 26, Geneva School District will host an Innovation and Technology Forum to give parents a chance to see some of the innovative ways students are learning today. Teachers and students from every school and grade level will be demonstrating some of the innovative learning practices that are helping Geneva achieve its vision of developing self-directed, lifelong learners; effective communicators; complex creative, and adaptive thinkers; and collaborative and productive citizens. You can expect to see students coding robots, blogging, creating and directing videos, engineering with a 3D printer, and much more.

Please come support our teachers and students who are very excited to show you how and what they are learning. You can stop by anytime between 6pm-8pm to visit our “innovation stations” and talk to students, teachers, and school board members. Ample free parking is available and refreshments will be served. Feel free to invite grandparents, friends, and neighbors to this fun event.
