Save the date.  South will vote for its favorite 2019 Rebecca Caudill book nominee on Monday, February 25th and Tuesday, February 26th.  If you have read 3 or more of the titles on our list, you may vote.  Will South vote the way Illinois does?  We shall soon find out!

Science Club don’t forget you are meeting tomorrow, Feb. 14th, afterschool, right here at GMSS in Mr. Duber’s classroom 154 until 4:25. This is a rescheduled meeting from one that was cancelled earlier this year.

Wired Crew also has a meeting tomorrow afternoon in the library.

Ready for a dog-gone good time?  Read A Dogs Purpose, or another dog-book, and join the GMSS book club on Tuesday 3/5.  Well have pizza and make treats for dogs and cats. See Mrs. Fedor or Mrs. Hollis for details.

From the Sports Desk:

The 7th grade girls’ A basketball team stormed out of the gate against Wredling and never looked back. Caroline Madden and Lexi Meier were running the fast break like the Duke Blue Devils to end the half as Caroline assisted Lexi on 6 points the last 45 seconds of the first half. Ally Ward had a monster game on the glass and was dominant on the offensive end tallying 14 points. Great team win.

The 8th girls’ basketball team hosted Wredling last night. Neither the snow, ice, wind, or Wredling could stop the girls this time. With Mr. Bleau scouting for the Student-Faculty game in the stands, the girls put on a great show.   Hanna Van Camp and Payton Smith erased a 7 point 1st half deficit to lead the A team to an 8-point win.

In the B game, Abby McMillian set a Vikings record by scoring 17 points in the second half alone to give them a narrow victory too. Mr. Bleau, the girls will be ready for you.
