From the Sports Desk:

There were inspiring performances all around the track and field on Friday night.  For the 7th grade girls, Lilly Coats was a beast as she captured third in the 100-meter hurdles and earned first place honors in the triple jump.  Additionally, Brooke Lussnig continued to dominate as she launched herself to a 1st place finish and ginormous PR in the long jump.  Lussnig and Coats along with Cami Bishop and Maddie Hubbuch led their team to a 5th place finish in the 4 by 200-meter relay.

The 8th grade girls picked up right where the left off last year and earned a 4th place overall team finish.  Bella Walls was impressive again as she won the 100 hurdles and cruised to a victory in the 400-meter dash.  Additionally, Walls, Erin Slagle, Becca Spezzano, and Frances Ferguson defended their crown and won the 4 by 200-meter relay for the second year in a row!

For the 8th grade boys, Colin Hasty put up solid performances by placing 6th in the 400 meters.  Hasty helped his fellow comrades, Mitchell Gratz, Gabe Boivin, and Matt Weinberger place 4th in the 4 by 200 meters.  Gabe Boivin also had an incredible 200-meter performance and placed fourth overall.

Congratulations to the entire 7th grade boys track team who laid the smack down on the competition Friday to capture the conference championship!  Braden Dieckmann helped set the tone early and captured all-conference honors by placing fifth in the shot put.  Grant Fischer, Hayden Vostal, Charlie Winterhalter, and Colin Sprague smoked the competition to capture the gold in the 4 by 400-meter relay.

Congratulations to Myles Keenan for coming in 5th place in the 50 meter race this weekend at the Special Olympics!
