The girls’ cross-country team had a tough meet against Batavia yesterday.  Although they were not able to pull out a win, the top 5 Geneva finishers were Abby Anderson, Ava Migliazzo, Riley Pryor, Maggie Anderson, and Keira McCann.  Way to finish girls!

The 7th grade football team put forth an excellent effort this past Thursday at STC Wredling and beat the host team by a score of 20-0. Tony Chahino, Caden Anderson and Michael Rumoro all scored touchdowns for the Vikings. On defense Michael Rumoro caused two turnovers and claimed one turnover and Caden Sorenson had an interception for the much improved Viking defense.

The 8th grade Geneva Vikings Football team hosted Aurora-Jewel yesterday in, what we will call, a bounce-back game.  The Vikings came out strong and had 3 touchdowns in the first quarter.  Jacob Black lead all rushing with 2 of those touchdowns and Nate Stempowski channeled his inner Devin Hester and returned a punt for a quick six.  The scoring didn’t stop in the 1st quarter, Jacob Black also intercepted a pass for a touchdown and caught one on a pass from Nate Stempowski.  The O-line won the war in the trenches to dominate against Aurora-Jewel.  The Defense held strong and didn’t allow positive yardage to the opposing team.  The Vikings Defense hammered the opposition and held them to zero points.  Your 8th grade Vikings play next Wednesday, the 11th, in their first conference game of the season against Thompson Middle School. Call your friends, family, and neighbors to get them out and support the Vikings. Be The Hammer.
