Did you hear the music playing in the library as you came in this morning?  Did it sound familiar?  For over six decades American composer John Williams has created some of the most popular and famous film scores in history. He is regarded as one of the greatest American composers of all time. The music that was playing, of course, was the Star Wars theme which was composed by John Williams.

Each Friday, music by a new composer will be playing as you enter the building.  See if you can guess the composer and/ or the song.

 

The first Student Council meeting of the school year is going to be next week Tuesday, September 10th at 8:00 am in Ms. Mack’s room.  You don’t want to miss it!

 

A new intramural is in the works and it’s for all you crafty people.  Have you ever wanted to learn how to crochet?  Well, here’s your chance.  Crocheting is a pretty cool skill to have so, head to the office for a permission slip and more information!

7th grade volleyball faced a tough match yesterday, as both teams fell to Harter. “B” saw strong passing from Kaitlyn Flaherty and their excellent teamwork made for an exciting match. Lu Illg put up a great defensive effort for the “A” team. Overall, positive attitudes and long volleys made for a nail-biting game. 

Good job to the 8th grade volleyball teams on tough battles with both Wredling and Kaneland. A and B both took Kaneland to 3 games and had some awesome rallies! Special shout outs to Charlotte Potvin for a total of 7 blocks and 13 kills, Bella Preston for her great defense and serve receive, Ashlin Weber for her awesome defense and Avery Campise for the team’s first big block of the season!
