You know, even though if feels like summer out there today, Christmas is going to be here before you know it.  And do you know what would be an awesome gift for your mom, dad, grandma or your favorite uncle?  A scarf or washcloth that YOU crocheted in the Crochet Intramural!  Speaking as a mom, we LOVE homemade stuff from our kids! So pop into to the office and pick up a permission slip soon!

Viking Gamer Club will be starting this month.  The first meeting will be held on Monday, September 23rd after school in the Old Up Lab from 4:30-5:30.  Students need to get a "Club Sign-Up Sheet" from the main office in order to participate.  The "sign-up" sheet is due by Friday, September 20th in order to participate in the first session.  Please see Mr. Rhea if you have any questions.

From the Sports Desk

Despite losing the top two spots in the race to two runners from Herget, the boys’ cross-country team defeated both Aurora Jewel and Aurora Herget behind third through eighth finishes by Wyatt Gross, Dom Stolarik, Grant Fischer, Chase Sorrentino and Lorcan Duffy.  Leading the way for the 6th grade was Max Sliwa, while James Rider had his best run of the season.  The team will next compete in the Marmion Invite on Tuesday next week.

Yesterday, the 7th grade girls’ volleyball A and B teams fought hard against Batavia. “A” was led in serving by Olivia Uhlmann, and “B” was led by Bridget Hecker. For passing the “A” team saw strong passes from Mekdes Geary, and “B’s” new libero, Chloe Koster, helped lead her team. Wish them good luck this weekend as they travel to Batavia Rotolo for their first tournament on Saturday.

Congrats to the 8th grade volleyball teams on their big wins against Batavia!! Congrats to the A team for an impressive combined total of 17 kills, 10 blocks and 14 aces! They did a great job of running our new offense and defense of a 5-1 to lead to a great victory!

The B team dominated the Bulldogs in two quick games and special shout out to Ivy Black for an impressive 18 point serving streak!
