Viking Spotlight: Emma Cole, GHS Science Teacher
Science teacher Emma Cole
Emma Cole, science teacher and activities director at Geneva High School, has been a guiding light for students since her arrival in August of 2006. With her vibrant personality, she has become a beloved figure within the school community. But what truly sets her apart is her unwavering passion for working with young minds. "They keep me young," she said. And indeed, it is her ability to connect with her students on a personal level that makes her teaching so impactful.

Earlier this year, Ms. Cole was recognized by the Kane County Regional Office of Education as High School Teacher of the Year, and it’s no surprise. That’s because Ms. Cole’s dedication doesn't end within the school walls. She wants the parents and the entire Geneva community to understand just how committed and hardworking the educators of District 304 truly are.

Ms. Cole has a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne and a master’s degree in teaching from DePaul University in Chicago. She also earned a master’s degree in educational leadership followed by a Principal Endorsement Program from Aurora University.

In her spare time, when she's not busy inspiring the next generation of scientists, you can find her engrossed in the pages of a captivating book. Or she’ll be cherishing precious moments with her toddler and husband. She savors every opportunity to visit with friends and family, as well as exploring the wonders of the world through travel. And on those rare, lazy days, Ms. Cole finds solace in the simple pleasure of indulging in her favorite TV shows.

Ms. Cole's zest for life is contagious, and it shines through in everything she does. From her dedication to her students to her vibrant personal life, she embodies the spirit of a true adventurer.
