7th and 8th grade girls’ basketball tryouts will be held on Monday, December 18th and Tuesday, December 19th.  Tryouts will run until 5:20 both days.  All girls that are interested in coming out need to have a current sports physical on file.

From the Sports Desk:

The 8th grade basketball A team continued their trend of tough battles to close the season.  Led by Ethan Ignacio's flame shooting from behind the arc and Chris Sueger's inside post play, the 8th grade A team tied up Yorkville with 2 minutes to go.  Unfortunately they were unable to hold on as they lost by 4.  Despite the adversity the boys faced this season, they played 100 percent every game and always played together as a team.  Congratulations on a hard-fought season.

Elliot Schmid got the B team off to a hot start in the Vikings playoff game last night against Yorkville.  It was the Vikings best game of the year as they went into half time leading by 3.  In the second half, Geneva came out strong again but just couldn't keep pace with the Yorkville scoring.  The South B team fell short by a few baskets but it was an amazing game.
