A Letter to Parents & Guardians from Geneva 304 Administration

Dear Geneva 304 parents and guardians,

As you know, the Geneva CUSD 304 Board of Education and the Geneva Education Association are committed to working together toward a new collective bargaining agreement that reflects the interests and values of both the Board and the GEA. Both parties are continuing to meet and work toward an agreement.

The school district remains hopeful that a resolution will be reached without a disruption to our schools, students and families. However, we also understand there may be concerns that, under the legal process, a strike could occur Nov. 13, 2018 or after. At this time, no firm date for the start of a strike has been announced by the GEA.

Out of consideration for our students and families, we want to share with you that if a strike were to occur, students would not attend school, and a comprehensive and timely plan would be communicated to you via the District’s communication channels, including: District and school websites, 304 Connects email, emergency phone notification system, and social media accounts.

Again, we remain hopeful this will not happen, but would like to stress Geneva CUSD 304’s commitment to communicate out of consideration for everyone involved.

If you are a parent or guardian of a Geneva 304 student, be sure that your contact information is up to date in Home Access Center.

Thank you,

Geneva CUSD 304 Administration
