An Important Message Regarding Negotiations
Nov. 16, 2018

Please see the following message sent jointly on behalf of the Board of Education and the Geneva Education Association.

The Geneva Education Association (GEA) and Board of Education negotiation teams have been meeting in smaller groups recently as suggested by the mediator with different makeups and for different purposes.  Since the session on Wednesday of last week, these groups have had four meetings this week, and have three additional meetings scheduled for next week. All of these sessions have been focused on resolving the compensation model issue and both teams have agreed not to make public any progress or outcomes from these meetings until a model has been agreed to. In addition to the three meetings scheduled for next week, the full teams have meetings scheduled for Monday, Nov. 26, and Wednesday, Nov. 28.

The negotiations teams are committed to working together toward a new collective bargaining agreement that reflects the interests and values of both the Board and the GEA.

Sincerely,

Dr. Adam Law, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources
Mark Grosso, Board President
Kevin Gannon, GEA President
Tammy Thompson, GEA Vice President
