From the Sports Desk:

The girls’ Cross-Country team had a rough meet against North on Tuesday afternoon. Despite the heat, the girls were still able to have some strong finishing times. Nora Meija, Ella Chandaris, Addison Kling, Katie Kierczynski, and Becca Spezzano pulled out some great times. Way to go girls!

Also on Tuesday afternoon, the boys’ Cross-Country team defeated Geneva North yesterday taking four of the five top places in the race. Colin Opdyke won his second race of the season and South swept 3rd through 6th behind strong runs by Colin Hasty, Mitchell Gratz and Quinlan Bobeczko. This Saturday will be the Troy Invite which is the largest middle school race in the state of Illinois.

The 8th Grade Football Team played well against a tough Yorkville team Tuesday night. Mason Luker accounted for the 12 points the Vikings scored by running back an interception for a touchdown as well as throwing a touchdown pass to Matt Fregley. Unfortunately. the Vikings were on the wrong side of the scoreboard by losing 30-12.
