Do you have old pairs of eyeglasses cluttering up a drawer? Keys that don’t open or start anything? Empty ink cartridges that you just don’t know what to do with? Or how about really old mobile phones that don’t even have a charger anymore? Good news – you can donate those items to the Leo’s Club, and they will recycle them for you! All items that are collected will help fund programs for the visually- and hearing-impaired right here in Illinois.

Keep bringing in Pop Top Tabs for Ronald McDonald House Charities. You can put them in the boxes in the cafeteria or bring them to Ms. Beyer in 6Blue. Our donations will help Ronald McDonald House, a home away from home for families of children receiving treatment from a nearby hospital.

Music students today is a Band/Orchestra day.

From the Sports Desk:

It was a packed house at South and the fans were rowdy for the battle between North and South. The 7th grade A team came out hot and battled the entire way. Evyn Schokora and Ivy Black helped lead the charge on offense with 11 and 5 points, while Caroline Madden was locking it down on the defensive end. Unfortunately, the girls came up just short in the end.

The 7th grade B team played hard the entire way. Lucie Buchanan was going coast to coast on offense and put up 6 points while Haley Hart and Rayna Johnson played terrific defense. Sadly, the girls couldn't seal the deal but they played hard the entire way.

The 8th grade girls’ basketball faced off against North last night under the big lights at the high school. The A team was unable to contain North on the offensive glass and ended up losing the game.

We had to turn the AC on last night during the B game because of the hot shooting by Hannah McMillen. Hannah knocked down shot after shot. The game came down to the wire and with under a minute, the South Vikings took the lead and held on to win.
