From the Sport’s Desk:

The 8th grade girls basketball team traveled out to Yorkville last night and hoped to break all the hearts of the sold out Valentine's Day game.   Morgan Curran led the way with 6 points for the A team.  Ainsley Novay played a big role in the B game with some free throws and jump shots.  Both the A and B teams played very hard, but their shots weren't as accurate as cupid's arrow and ended up losing to Yorkville.

The 7th grade girls cruised out of the gates to a 14-0 lead against Yorkville last night and never looked back.  The team's vintage defense set the tone while Ashlin Webber had a stellar game on both sides of the court posting 2 points.  Maddie Wrobel and Ivy Black both had terrific games in the post.

The B team played their best game of the year and held Yorkville to zero points in the first quarter.  Bella Preston set the tone with her defensive tenacity while Riley Burbank hit a big free throw and played a great overall game.  South made a late charge in the fourth quarter and never gave up but couldn't quite seal the deal against Yorkville.
