Three GHS Seniors Receive IHSAE Scholarships From Art Portfolios

IHSAE logoThree Geneva High School seniors received numerous scholarships from the art portfolios that were submitted to the IHSAE (Illinois High School Art Exhibition) Senior Portfolio Show.

Caitlin Mourek, Caroline Lindwall, Kristina Sutterlin have been selected to showcase artwork at the exhibit and qualified to earn one of the available college scholarships.

The total senior scholarship amount for GHS is $411,147. The shows runs from Monday, Feb. 11-Friday, March 8, at the Zhou B Art Center and Bridgeport Art Center in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood.

A public opening will be hosted Sunday, Feb. 24 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Zhou B and Bridgeport Art Centers. The IHSAE features several unique programs for high school art students and K-12 Art Educators throughout the year. The first of many events is the IHSAE’s General Exhibition; a “Best of the Best” Show featuring more than 800 works of art, in 8 distinct categories, from Illinois suburban, public and private high schools along with a Vendor & Career Expo. Both of these events will be held at the Zhou B. Art Center.

The Illinois High School Art Exhibition is a not-for-profit with a mission to enhance the creative educational landscape, giving student and teacher artists agency to succeed by connecting them to a variety of remarkable exhibitions, opportunities, and programs, while advocating for and reinforcing the power of art in their lives.
