Upon learning about the ways we all are affecting the environment, Mrs. Brady’s 6th grade science students at GMS South created and organized their own club this year called “The Green Team.”
With the goal of making a positive difference, students created a deposit box for chip bags in the cafeteria, since those cannot be recycled through the city, according to Mrs. Brady.
Students took their first load last week to Gerald Subaru of North
Aurora, which has a recycling box from TerraCycle. They also have started recycling markers through Crayola
ColorCycle, since those also cannot be recycled through the city. The group hopes
to continue their efforts next year!
