Preschool Now Enrolling for 2023-24 - Geneva Early Learning Program

Enrollment in the Geneva Early Learning Center Program is open for the 2023-24 academic year. Geneva Early Learning Program is an inclusive preschool community for residents of Geneva 304 offering a full continuum of services for children who are typically developing as well as those who have identified disabilities. Its curriculum is a research-based, play-based curriculum and is aligned to Geneva 304’s core values. The program is currently accepting enrollment for tuition-based preschool students 3 or older. Staff Spotlight: Sally and Mike Longo

School districts across the nation are struggling to recruit substitutes to help in classrooms when teachers need to be away from class. To help ease the shortage, the Illinois School Board of Education changed the requirements to make it much easier to obtain a Substitute Teacher’s license. In fact, to get a license, a bachelor’s degree or an associate degree in any subject is the only educational requirement – a teaching degree is not needed.

Geneva residents Mike and Sally Longo have subbed for the Geneva School District for many years. “Our three daughters went to school in the District, so we already felt a connection to the schools and staff,” said Mike Longo. “We wanted an opportunity that allowed us flexibility with our schedule and substitute teaching was a perfect fit.”

Students Celebrate Leadership at Annual Leadership Breakfast

“Leadership is continually learning,” said Geneva CUSD 304 Superintendent Dr. Kent Mutchler at the annual Leadership Breakfast event to kick off American Education Week, Nov. 14-18, 2022. The Nov. 15 event at Geneva High School also featured Geneva Academic Foundation (GAF) representatives who presented a check to the school district for $30,000 to provide classroom grants for technology, programs, and equipment.
