When Jillian was born, her pediatrician noticed her heart did not sound like other babies but they were unable to determine the problem. She came back for a checkup when she was 3 and found that her heart was enlarged and there was a hole called an ASD- Atrial Septal Defect. She saw many different heart surgeons and it was decided that heart surgery was the best way to fix her heart. She went to Children’s Memorial Hospital in August 2008, when she was 4 years old to have heart surgery.
Jillian is now a 5th grade student at Fabyan Elementary who loves dancing, playing soccer and basketball, and being with her friends. She is honored to be named Fabyan’s Heart Ambassador. Fabyan Elementary teamed up with the American Heart Association to raise funds for research.
