Geneva High School Science teacher Joe Schoen was selected as the National Association of Geoscience Teachers (NAGT) Illinois Outstanding Earth Science Teacher for 2015! Outstanding Earth Science Teacher (OEST) awards are given for "exceptional contributions to the stimulation of interest in the Earth Sciences at the pre-college level." The selection committee says it was particularly impressed with Mr. Schoen’s implementation of "curriculum choice", his ability to inspire his students, and his passion for earth science education.

On June 8, the Geneva Board of Education presented Mr. Schoen with its highest honor, the "Tradition of Excellence" award. Congratulations to Mr. Schoen for his achievements!
