A Message from Geneva 304 Superintendent
April 17, 2020

It is with a heavy heart that I share with you today that Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced that all Illinois schools will be closed for the remainder of the school year. While we are saddened that we will not be welcoming our students and staff back into our classrooms this school year, our priority is the safety and well-being of our school community.

Geneva 304 will continue to support students and follow the guidelines outlined in our Remote Learning Plan for the duration of the 2019-20 school year. We also want to share with you the following information:
  • The District is working on end-of-year timelines, which will be communicated in the upcoming weeks.
  • Please continue to observe social distancing guidelines and do everything possible to keep your family safe. To this end, we will be canceling all events and co-curricular activities through May. Please look to your child’s school for additional information about specifics.
  • Geneva High School has communicated with its families plans for end-of-year activities including prom, senior award night, and graduation. More information about this communication can be found on the District’s Frequently Asked Questions page and may be forthcoming from the high school administration.
  • We are evaluating what this may mean for summer school, extended school year learning and other summer programs and will communicate information once further guidance is received and decisions are made.
  • We will extend our Grab and Go meal service for qualifying students through the end of the 2019-20 school year, with pickup locations at the front entrance of Harrison Street Elementary School and Williamsburg Elementary School.
  • We will be working to develop a plan for families to pick up any remaining materials that have been left behind, and additional communications on this will be forthcoming.
While many additional questions remain, please understand that we are working hard to plan and provide answers. Thank you again for partnering with us and for all the grace and patience you’ve provided as we work to support you and our students during this unique pandemic situation.
