I hope this message finds you and your family well during these unprecedented times. I would like to share my continued appreciation to our students, staff and families for your patience, support and hard work as we continue our journey of remote learning while also planning for many possible scenarios for next year.?

We are all working to help students get the most out of our Remote Learning Plan so they can continue to learn and grow despite these difficult circumstances. It is so important that we work to minimize any gaps in learning for our students. In Geneva 304, we strive to plan in both the short and longer terms and remain focused on the month ahead as well as summer activities and the upcoming school year. We greatly look forward to welcoming our students back for face-to-face instruction as soon as it is safe to do so.

We truly miss our students and staff in our buildings and are doing all that we can to provide educational opportunities that help to replicate those that would be happening if we were not engaged in remote learning. Last week, I shared a reading of one of my favorite books in the spirit of #LearningTogether304, which is our District’s theme for this school year. This week, I am sharing a couple of shorter books, available at this link. I chose these books because of the message that the first relays about kindness and accepting others, while the second book is mostly just fun and encourages reader participation.

In the coming weeks, I plan to share messages for our older students, which younger students will also appreciate. Reading is the fundamental block for all other education, so I hope that everyone takes this difficult time to enjoy and share reading for fun and for learning.

Thank you again for partnering with us and for all the grace and patience you’ve provided as we work to support you and our students during this unique pandemic situation.?We will continue to communicate updates with you as we navigate this situation together.
