This fall, Geneva families have a fantastic opportunity to access free resources addressing parenting challenges. The Geneva School District has joined a network of districts offering the GPS Parent Series. This program, provided at no cost by a 501(c)(3) organization, features world-renowned authors and speakers who share research-based insights on current topics to foster positive youth development. Parents can explore weekly live and sometimes in-person presentations or watch numerous recorded videos on the GPS Youtube channel. For instance, on September 19, GPS will host Chris Herren, a former NBA player, at the McAninch Arts Center (MAC) at College of DuPage and on Zoom. He will discuss substance abuse in his talk, “Prevention Starts With All: The Chris Herren Story,” from 7-8:30 p.m. No registration is required for the sessions, but parents can sign up to receive program updates at gpsparentseries.org.
