Back Together 304 Message from Superintendent

Back Together Superintendent Message

April 14, 2021

As was shared at the most recent Board of Education meeting, Geneva CUSD 304 is continuing to work hard to support students while adhering to the latest public health guidance for schools. As we have done all year, we also continue to monitor trends in COVID-19 and its impact on our schools, students, and staff.

We have heard and seen positive results from our school community after transitioning our In-Person Learning model to five on-site days a week, but more students may be impacted if identified as “close contacts” of COVID-positive cases, due to the reduced guidelines in physical distancing. In this regard, we have acknowledged in the past that we may need to look at each level individually and make adjustments where needed, rather than continue with a one-size-fits-all approach.

Geneva High School is communicating to families the need to take an adaptive pause for this Thursday and Friday, April 15th and 16th. Please note that this will only be at GHS and only be for two days. This is part of an approach that we feel is appropriate at that level at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation as we move forward and communicate with our families. Our educational format at all other schools in our District will remain in place. Thank you in advance for your continued?cooperation,?so that we can continue to achieve our goals to serve students.
?
Sincerely,??

Dr. Kent Mutchler
Superintendent of Schools
