Geneva 304 Launches COVID-19 Dashboard
Oct. 21, 2020

As we move forward in this school year with a focus on health, safety, and collaboration, we have taken steps to build a Geneva CUSD 304 COVID-19 Dashboard on our website, which is now available at this link.

Understanding Numbers & Context

This dashboard includes the current number of active and cumulative COVID-19 positive cases reported for in-person learners and staff in our school district, as well as the greater context of how many individuals are in our buildings (location size). Our hope is that this information will provide a transparent picture for our school community, which to date reflects the great strides we are taking to follow health and safety guidelines. This information will be updated weekly on Friday afternoons.

Please note that quarantining is taking place due to a variety of proactive measures, out of an abundance of caution. Communication regarding quarantining due to positive or presumed positive tests will continue to be sent to families identified as being directly related to the case through the contact tracing process, and those numbers will not be included in the dashboard. Any cases of online-only individuals are not included in the data, as they are not part of our reporting process. Please remember that if you hear of someone being quarantined, it (usually) does not mean they are positive for COVID-19.

For additional data related to trends in our community, please visit the Kane County COVID-19 Dashboard

We're All In This Together

We attribute the continued success of Hybrid In-Person Learning to many factors in our Back Together 304 plan, including:
  • Shared responsibility between families and staff to follow Daily Symptom Screening process
  • Adherence to guidelines on masks, social distancing, and hand hygiene
  • Increased, collaborative cleaning protocols
  • Added contact tracing support for our Health Services team
  • Continued collaboration with Kane County Health Department

Mask Up Illinois PosterAs the KCHD reinforced in an article published by the Kane County Chronicle this week, there is no data to indicate that spread is happening in our school buildings, and our staff is doing everything we can to take steps to reduce exposure. “Our schools are doing a great job of really working on social distancing, cleaning and disinfecting, and staying in close contact with us,” said Apryll Elliott, assistant director for communicable disease.

We are so proud of the work our staff, students, and school community are doing to help support a safe, high level of learning each day. We would like to ask everyone to remember to follow The Three Ws: Wear a mask, Watch your distance, and Wash your hands.

We will continue to keep you informed, and if you have further questions you may visit the Frequently Asked Questions or the Symptom Screening for Students pages.

Thank you,
Geneva CUSD 304
