If you have been in the library this year, you will notice that the theme is water. This topic also happens to be a major topic in Earth Science classes. Because of this, we will be sharing some fun water tips submitted by GMSS students! This week's water conservation tip is from Kristina Peterson who suggests using a refillable water bottle that way you are less likely to waste water and it cuts down on plastic pollution.

7th grade girl’s volleyball defeated Aurora Washington in a two match battle. Kaylin Kusak helped the Vikings toward victory with an amazing serving streak in the first match. Ava Connolly kept the team moving as setter in both matches! Sadie Ludwig took it home with an 11 point serving streak. The B Team pulled out the W against the Generals with Emery Larsen setting up perfect passes. Ella Weinberger was a leader on the court keeping her team positive and making a clutch pass when the Vikings were down to keep them in the game!

Remember there is NO practice today after school, but Thursday we head to Wredling for what's sure to be a great game!

Last night, 8th grade volleyball played a competitive match against Aurora Washington. “A” team came out strong with serving from Megan Maertens, setting from Kai Davenport, and impressive hits from Gianna Conforti. They lost the first game, but they rallied back to beat Aurora Washington in a nail-biting third game.

“B” team took to the court with strength and power, but sadly fell just short of victory. Millie Spindle, Yaslin Lopez, and Layla Plummer all had their best games of the season. Great job to 8th grade. Come support 8th grade tomorrow night at home!

It was Tuesday night lights last night, and the cross-country team literally ran out of their shoes at the Marmion Invite.  Alexis Guess led the troops for the 6th grader girls and finished in 11th place.  Mira Meyers ran an impressive race for the 7th grade girls and brought home an 11th place finish of her own while Emelia Bellini was tough as nails and ran a very strong race.  Congratulations to both girls teams on two 4th place team finishes.  On the boys front, Griffin Poterek brought home the bronze medal for the 6th grade boys and Quinn "Shoeless" Hogan ran 3/4 of the race with one shoe, yet still brought home a top 20 finish.  Andrew "Aardvark" Lee led the 7th/8th graders with a 9th place overall finish.  Mason Bruesch continued the one shoe trend with a gutsy 7th grade race while Kyle Heller put it in cruise control on the straightaway and cruised past 4 Batavia Bulldogs.  Congratulations to the 6th grade boys on a 4th place team finish and the 7th grade boys bringing home the bronze medal for the team finish.
