Ludwig van Beethoven was a German pianist born in 1770 that many considered a genius.  Some of his most influential pieces were composed in the last 10 years of his life when he was unable to hear, due to his struggles with deafness. This morning you heard Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.

The library bookmobile will be in the cafeteria during all lunches today.  If you need to return, renew your book, or check out one of the library's top picks, stop by and see Mrs. Fedor in the cafeteria at lunch.

Starting after Thanksgiving Break, Student Council is going to be sponsoring a very special Holiday Toy Drive to help the children at Lutheran General Hospital. Lutheran General is the hospital that treated Vivian, the daughter of our 6th grade teacher, Mrs. Brady, when she was battling leukemia. For 3 years, the Brady family made donations to Lutheran General Hospital and this year, we need your help to make it an extra special Christmas for the children at the hospital. So, if you go out Christmas shopping during Thanksgiving break, why not pick up an extra toy for the Toy Drive? For everyone toy donated, Mrs. Fedor or Mrs. Burkitt in the library will give you a raffle ticket to win one of three $10 gift cards.

From the Sports Desk

The 8th grade A basketball team had a ginormous win, knocking off the defending conference champ Kaneland last night.  After a strong first half, Charlie "Winter is Coming" Winterhalter helped lead the boys out of the gates with his "Joakim Noah" like energy.  Colin Sprague was a rock on both sides of the floor, and Billy Paris posted a monster game on offense and defense, shutting down Kaneland's best player.  It was an impressive team win as the crew knocked off Kaneland 36-26.

The B team jousted with Kaneland last night. Josh Feucht landed the first blow of the night with a steal and lay-up.  The whole game was very scrappy and unfortunately, the knights were victorious and the end.
