Students Continue Walk & Bike to School Day Tradition
Making Kane County Fit for Kids Logo
Oct. 2, 2019

Despite the morning’s wet conditions, students at Western Avenue School joined students across the nation in pursuit of promoting healthy habits, safety, and helping the environment. Walk & Bike to School Day, organized by the school’s PTO, is a one-day effort to encourage more families to enjoy the many benefits of safely walking and biking to school.

PTO volunteers and staff members greeted students with a sticker as they arrived at the building. Students then were invited to sign the Walk & Bike to School Day banner at the front entrance.

The nationwide event represents more than 4,000 participating school across the United States. Several Geneva CUSD 304 schools participate in this event each year — rain or shine.
