Recognizing National School Bus Safety Week

Oct. 21, 2019

Geneva CUSD 304 is recognizing National School Bus Safety Week during Oct. 21-25. More than 4,200 children ride Geneva 304 buses every school day, and National School Bus Safety Week serves as a reminder for the community to keep school bus safety in the forefront.

This year’s theme is on stopping for the school bus. According to an annual national survey, nearly 100,000 bus drivers reported that 88,025 vehicles passed their buses illegally on a single day.

To learn about Illinois laws on when to properly stop for a school bus, read and share this document, “School Bus Safety: What Motorists Should Know,” from the Illinois State Board of Education at this link:

Geneva CUSD 304 would like to thank its bus drivers and its community members for their continuous efforts to keep our students safe!
