From the Sports Desk

The 7th grade boys’ basketball A team started the season by challenging Wredling.  Finn Weppner started the season with a quick two followed by a Timmy Adkins 3 to give the Viking the early lead, but this proved to not be enough against a tough Wredling team.  Ethan Gronberg and Finn Weppner led the Vikings with 5 points each.  Jaydon Hodgdon and Anish Buddaraju each had 4 points.  Next up on the schedule is tonight at Herget.

If you look at the score of the 8th grade B game against Wredling, you’d think they were given an extra hour to play, but that extra hour only applied to your sleep this weekend.  The Vikings came out shooting and scored 11 points in the first 3 minutes.  They continued to score throughout the game but unfortunately, so did Wredling. The B team fell just short.

Since our Chicago Bears continue to fail on the offensive side of the ball, the Geneva basketball team decided to pick up the slack last night.  The 8th grade A team stormed out of the gate and defeated Wredling by two touchdowns and a field goal.  Grant Fischer and Colin Sprague were beasts on the offensive end.
