The 8th grade girls' basketball team competed in the Harter tournament this past weekend. After taking down Sycamore in game one, they faced off against Thompson. The Vikings held a 2-point lead with 10 seconds left. Thompson fouled Lila Saxton, putting her at the free line for two shots. With ice in her veins, she sank both free throws sending the South Vikings to the championship.
The Vikings flipped the script on the Batavia Bulldogs and won the championship beating Batavia by double digits. Ryen and Ellie Stachowicz and Haddie Wilkison took home tournament all-team honors. Congrats to everyone on the team.
