On Thursday, December 11, the Board of Education will host Ralph Martire, who will speak on the Future of Illinois State Funding. This program will be held at Geneva Middle School South, 1415 Viking Drive, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Mr. Martire, Executive Director of the Center for Tax and Budget Accountability, will discuss how Illinois’ lack of money may have profound consequences on the future State Aid formula. He will also discuss the possible impact of pending legislation. Learn what the current fiscal climate really is and find out possible changes for this year.
As a member of the River Forest SD 90 Board of Education, Mr. Martire brings unique knowledge to his presentation. He is a distinguished lecturer on public policy and has received numerous awards for his work on education policy reform, including an appointment to serve on the U.S. Department of Education Equity and Excellence Commission in 2011.
