Geneva School District has been ranked the 12th Best School District in Illinois by Niche (formerly College Prowler).

Geneva is one of 9,299 school districts to be ranked this year by Niche (formerly College Prowler) with only 8,738 school districts receiving a numerical ranking. Geneva has 5,959 students attending 10 schools in grades PK and K-12. According to state standards, 92% of students in this district are considered proficient in math and/or reading.

“We are very pleased to receive this recognition,” said Superintendent Dr. Kent Mutchler. “This award reflects high expectations and the importance of quality staff doing excellent work and caring parents working together to help all of our students succeed.”

Best Public School Districts by Niche ranks 8,738 school districts based on dozens of key statistics and 4.6 million opinions from 280,000 students and parents. A high ranking indicates that the district contains great schools with exceptional teachers, sufficient resources, and a diverse set of high-achieving students who rate their experiences very highly.

Last spring, Geneva School District also received the 2014 Bright Red Apple Award of Excellence from SchoolSearch. This award is given to school districts based on academic performance, pupil/teacher ratio, expenditure per pupil, educational level of teachers, and average teacher salary. Geneva School District has received this award every year since 2005.
