Geneva ACT Scores Surpass State, National Averages

Repeating a tradition of success that Geneva High School’s students display on the ACT, Geneva’s graduating class of 2017 achieved an average ACT composite score of 24.1, according to numbers released last week by ACT.

This impressive average far surpasses the state and national composite averages, which for 2017 are 21.4 and 21.0, respectively.

“These scores are a reflection of our incredibly hard-working students,” said Superintendent Dr. Kent Mutchler. “We are grateful to our staff, parents and community for their continued support of our students, and for the value they place on education in Geneva, without which we could not yield such success.”

The 2016-17 school year was the first year that the Illinois Board of Education required schools to administer the SAT to all students. The 2017 SAT results are expected to be released later this fall. These current ACT scores represent the students in the Class of 2017 who elected to take the ACT test during their high school career.
