Congratulations to all the music students who participated in this past Saturday’s Illinois Grade School Music Association Solo and Ensemble Contest.  Students prepared solos, duets, and small ensembles to be performed for a judge, and all received ratings based on their performance.  We are very proud of you all!

Math club meets this Thursday after school in Mrs. Gain's room 122 at North until 4:20. Join us for a snack and some fun math activities and games.

7th graders, don't forget to work with your parents to select your electives for next year.  Your selections are due by this Friday.

From the Sports Desk:

The 7th grade girls' basketball B team, came out strong against Rotolo last night, taking an early lead. Maddie Levin worked hard on both ends, exemplifying smart play. Yet, some undisciplined follow-through got the best of the team in the end resulting in a loss for South.

The 7th grade A team battled against Batavia but couldn't pull out the W last night. Nora Haton, Emma Peterson, and Avery Edison helped lead the team with their aggressive play.

In the 8th grade girls’ basketball game last night, Juliet Whiston knocked down 2 impressive floaters vs Batavia.  It was an impressive showing, but it wasn't enough for the Vikings to win.

Spring athletics begin in March. 6th-8th grade boys volleyball tryouts will be held March 13-15 and 7th /8th grade boys and girls track and field practice begins on March 13. A current physical must be on file in the main office, and you must be registered online in order to participate.
