This week Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker extended the state’s stay-at-home order through May, in addition to his prior announcement to extend the school building closure for the rest of the year. This order has implications for how the District can conduct several end-of-year plans - including picking up materials from our buildings, just to name one – and when those plans are finalized, additional communications will be forthcoming.
Also this week, we added to our Remote Learning Plan a May calendar that reflects remote learning through the end of the school year, and three scheduled Self-Directed Learning Days in May. You can view that plan here
In these challenging times Geneva 304 staff, students, and parents are working hard to stay connected through our shared love of #LearningTogether304. I advocate strongly for reading and miss reading some of my favorite books in our classrooms. Therefore, I would like to invite families to share with their children a short video I’ve created reading one of my favorite books, “Eggbert, the Slightly Cracked Egg,” at this link
. I hope our students enjoy it, remember that they are missed, and know that we are looking forward to the day we can welcome them back to our classrooms.
Last but certainly not least, please continue to look to our District’s Frequently Asked Questions
page regarding updates from the District.
Thank you again for partnering with us and for all the grace and patience you’ve provided as we work to support you and our students during this unique pandemic situation.
