From the Sports Desk

Like butter, Sophia Broderick was on a roll last night for the 7th grade girls’ A team, knocking down 16 points include 4 3-pointers.  It was business as usual for Mekdes Geary as she continued to ride her hot hand from the free throw line, going 4 for 4 from the line and tallying 8 points.  Once again everyone on the team scored and the Vikings steamrolled Thompson for a big conference win.

The 7th grade girls’ B team had a fiery match against Thompson last night. The Vikings took an early lead with Emilie Beaupre’s knock down shots in the key. It was neck and neck in the second half, Geneva playing great defense as a team. But Thompson hit a few big shots and got ahead in the 4th quarter. Molly Brown fought hard in the paint and had a huge finish as well as a couple made free throws. The Vikings just ran out of time, losing by 2 in the end. Chloe Judd was extremely solid at the point and L- squared, Lily and Lizzy were great on D.

The 8th grade A basketball team beat Thompson last night by 4 points.  The scrappy Vikings were all over the place.   Caroline Madden dove into the bleachers to save the ball from going out of bounds, got up and a few seconds later saved the ball again on the other side of the court.  Thanks to the hustle and determination by everyone, the Vikings secured their 10th win of the season.
