No Classes on Thursday, Dec. 6, Negotiations Resume Thursday Night
Dec. 5, 2018

The Geneva Education Association (GEA), the union that represents our more than 450 teachers, remains on strike and all Geneva District 304 schools will be closed again on Thursday, Dec. 6.

Since Tuesday, attorneys for the Board and the union have been in communication and working to schedule an additional negotiating session. Today, we heard back from the GEA, confirming a negotiating session for tomorrow evening. We expect that our session will begin with the GEA’s response and/or counter-proposal to the Board’s last offer, which was presented prior to the GEA calling for a strike on Tuesday, Dec. 4.

We all want our students and teachers back in the classroom learning and teaching as soon as possible. We are hopeful that we will be able to come to resolution tomorrow evening.

As always, we thank you for your support of District 304 schools and students. We will continue to provide daily email updates on the status of our negotiations. For up-to-date information, please visit the District website at www.geneva304.org.

Sincerely,
Geneva CUSD 304 Board of Education
