A Letter to Parents & Guardians from Geneva 304 Administration
Dec. 1, 2018

Dear Geneva 304 parents and guardians:

Geneva CUSD 304 learned today through a press release by the Geneva Education Association that the teacher’s union has set a strike date for Tuesday, Dec. 4. This does not necessarily mean a strike will occur. Both sides have expressed hope of avoiding a strike and reaching a tentative agreement before then. The Board of Education and the GEA are returning to the negotiation table tomorrow, Dec. 2.

We are committed to keeping you up to date as we learn more. Out of consideration for our students and families, we want to share with you that if a strike were to occur, students would not attend school, and more information regarding other school-related activities would be communicated to you through our communication channels, including: District and school websites, 304 Connects email, emergency phone notification system, and social media accounts.

If you are a parent or guardian of a Geneva 304 student, be sure that your contact information is up to date in Home Access Center.

We thank you for your patience, support, and understanding as we navigate this situation. We remain hopeful and will update you as quickly as possible when we have additional information.

Thank you,
Geneva CUSD 304 Administration
