For those who were unable to join the free online parent presentation hosted by Geneva High School earlier this week, “Navigating COVID, School and Life in Stressful Times,” a recording is now available to view on our website.
Clinical psychologist and author Dr. John Duffy provided parents with insight and tools to support their children during a 1-hour presentation, followed by a Q&A where parents were invited to submit questions virtually. The Q&A portion of the event provided parents with tips on several topics, including:
- Dealing with college rejection
- Managing your own anxiety
- Building better communication with your teenager
While this presentation focuses on parenting of teenagers, parents with children of all ages were welcome to participate.
GHS Principal Tom Rogers shared that staff at the high school received a similar presentation by Dr. Duffy earlier this week, and the information learned will help equip staff in supporting students through tough times.
