Dear GHS Students and Parents/Guardians,
First semester is coming to a close and I would like to, again, thank everyone for helping us make this semester a success. As we’ve acknowledged on numerous occasions, we know it’s not perfect but thanks to everyone’s perseverance, cooperation and support we have made the most of a difficult situation. I have really enjoyed seeing and hearing students every day, and I really appreciate the energy they bring to the building. We look forward to the day when all of our students can join us on an everyday basis!
As we get ready to start second semester, we want to provide details regarding Remote Learning Fridays that will begin on Friday, January 29th. Starting on the 29th, Fridays will consist of a full day of remote learning. All students will be required to attend each of their classes remotely for a portion of the day. Please note that the Friday schedule below for second semester is different than our normal half-day schedule. Like the remote learning experience after Thanksgiving, students will engage with their teachers during each class period. Please see the schedule and other important details below.
New GHS Remote Learning Friday Schedule for All Students, beginning Friday, January 29th
- On scheduled Remote Learning Fridays, all hybrid in-person students (A & B day students) will become one learning group, ensuring three days a week of learning for all students, and allowing them the opportunity to learn together as a whole class.
- Online-only students will also follow this same schedule on Fridays.
- Teachers will also have office hours at the end of the remote schedule.
- Teachers may invite students to the building, as we have during first semester, for in-person meetings, to get in-person assistance, to work on hands-on projects, etc.
- The Math Lab will be available from 12:30 – 3:30 on Fridays.
- The Assessment Center will be open from 12:30 – 4:00 on Fridays.
- More information will be provided to Fox Valley Career Center students regarding their Friday schedule.
