On Friday, the CDC updated its guidance regarding masking as a mitigation measure for prevention of COVID-19. This new guidance considers additional factors when determining a community’s level of risk, and based on this new guidance, Kane County, IL currently falls in the Low Risk category. In the Low Risk category, while individuals may choose to wear a mask at any time, there is no formal recommendation for masking anywhere in the community, including on school buses. Geneva 304 will follow these latest recommendations, and masking will not be required or recommended in any Geneva 304 facility or school bus (individual choices regarding masking will continue to be supported).
We understand you may have additional questions regarding other mitigation measures that Geneva 304 currently has in place. We are currently awaiting additional information from the Illinois State Board of Education and the Illinois Department of Public Health regarding these additional mitigation strategies, and we will keep you informed as we learn more.
Thank you for your continued partnership as we navigate this evolving situation.
