Geneva High School Senior Elle Plucinsky and 2019 graduate Abby Rieck have been selected for “DePaul’s Blue Book: Best of Illinois High School Writing 2018-2019.”

DePaul University invited area high schools to submit their student publications as a means of finding the best student writers in the state; GHS English Department Chair Ms. Heather Peters submitted “The Skaldic.” From there, graduate students in the Masters in Writing & Publishing program received more than 70 literary magazines from high schools across Illinois and read hundreds of literary selections.

Elle's poem “Broken Puzzle Pieces” and Abby's Personal Essay, “Coffee House,” were selected to be published in DePaul’s digital anthology, available at this link.

Students also were invited to a reading and reception this weekend at DePaul University.

“I could not be more proud of these talented writers,” Ms. Peters said.
