Child Find Screenings

Early Childhood Education for Residents of the Geneva School District

During the preschool years, parents often wonder if their child’s development is typical of that seen in same age peers. Developmental screenings are designed to address these concerns and help parents learn more about their child’s skills.

Geneva CUSD 304 offers free developmental screenings throughout the school year to assess young children’s skills. These screenings are conducted by a team of District Educators and Specialists and are available to families living within the Geneva School District whose children are 3 to 5 years of age and do not qualify for kindergarten based on their date of birth.

Please be aware that Early Childhood Screenings are NOT kindergarten readiness screenings.

An Early Childhood Screening assesses your child’s development in the areas of:

  • Speech/Language
  • Fine/Gross Motor
  • Cognition/Pre-Academics
  • Social-Emotional
  • Self-Care
  • Vision/Hearing
Appointments are necessary and students must be pre-registered in order to participate. Please contact Geneva 304 Early Learning Program at 630-444-8700 to begin this process. Proof of child age and residency is required in order to register a child for an Early Childhood screening.

These screenings will take place at Geneva 304 Early Learning Program at Fabyan Elementary School (0S350 Grengs Lane, Geneva, IL 60134). A screening takes approximately one hour to complete. Afterwards, parents will have the opportunity to discuss the results of the screening, as well as any concerns about their child, with a member of the screening team.
