This past Tuesday, the girls cross country moved their perfect record for the season to 3-0 as they easily beat Aurora Herget and Aurora Jewel, they were led by Riley Dunnett, Mira Meyers, Lyla Clemons, Haddie Wilkinson, Alexis Guess and Juliet Whiston all finishing in the top 10!!  

 The boy's cross-country team beat Aurora Jewel but lost a tough one to Aurora Herget.  Parsa Manafi finished in 4th place in a season best time, Tyler Larsen, Matthew Martija, Brendan King and Mason Bruesch all had strong races too.

 

The 8th grade girls volleyball team had another match last night and though they fought hard, they were not able to get the win against the Thompson Thunder. Talia Reynolds wowed the crowd blocking at the net and Myla Giang dominated in the back row. Olivia Schreiber and Sasha Costello were all over the court making great plays to keep the Vikings in the game.  

 

Attention 6th graders:  Don’t forget Jivin’ Geneva will be held tomorrow after school until 5:00 pm.   Join your friends and make new ones while you enjoy snacks and activities in the cafeteria and games in the gym!  There is no cost to attend Jivin’ Geneva.

 

Attention 8th grade students, don't forget to bring your laptops to PE today and drop it off at the appropriate table near the gyms. Attention 6th grade students, tomorrow (Friday) your devices will be audited during PE class. Please be sure to bring your laptop to PE.

 

Don't drop the ball. Bingo is their name-o at Books & Breakfast tomorrow morning at 8:00 am or when you get here. No registration required. If you have questions, see Mrs. Fedor in the library. 

Calling all Artists! Art Club sign-ups start this week! Permission slips are located in the main office or with Ms. Marks in room 269. Art club runs Tuesdays and Thursdays after school! See Ms. Marks with any questions!  

Let the games begin - Viking Gamer Club is back!  If you didn't get a sign-up form during the Activity Fair, you can pick one up in the main office.  Sign-up forms should be returned to the main office or Mr. Rhea by Friday, September 16th.

Attention 7th and 8th graders:  Do you play piano, guitar, or bass and have an interest in playing Jazz music?  Consider joining the GMS South Jazz Band.  Simply stop by the band room on your way to lunch anytime this week and let Mr. Flaks know that you are interested and get more information.

Permission slips are available in the main office for Conservation Intramurals which begins on Wednesday, September 21st.      

This Week’s Club Meetings

The first Fellowship of Christian Adolescents meeting will be held tomorrow morning at 7:45 am.  They will meet in the CLS room across from the main office at GMS North.  Nelson Wendell and Brady Van Rossum will be leading this week.  Please join them for fun, fellowship, and donuts.  Hope to see you there!
