From the Sports Desk

In the South vs North girls’ basketball showdown last night, North came out on top in the 8th grade level, but the girls never backed down.  Hope Ieler and Ashlin Weber provided some excitement with some great drives and baskets. Next up is the Kaneland tournament.

It was a bumping atmosphere for the 7th grade Tuesday Night Lights Showdown between South and North.  After a tight, back and forth game in the first half, the good guys prevailed to defeat North, 22-21.  Mekdes Geary hit another buzzer beater to conclude the first quarter, Adelaide Evans had a monster game, posting 5 points, and Bridget Hecker was fantastic on both sides of the courts, knocking down 6 points.
