The 7th grade girls’ basketball blue train kept rolling last night against Batavia. In the first game, the Vikings were neck and neck in the first half, but put the full court press on in the second half to pull away from the Bulldogs. Anna Lange and Taytum Lettenberger led the way with their drives and dishes. The second game was a battle and a bruiser that went back and forth. With 10 seconds left Olivia Frye had a great drive, and Maggie Diatta was in the right place at the right time for the game winning put back bucket to secure the Batavia sweep!
The 8th grade basketball team made a furious comeback against Batavia last night. Marin Anderson hit a huge 3 to help the Vikings force overtime. In the short 3-minute period, Batavia was able to score one more bucket than the Vikings and that was the difference. The B game saw all 5 player’s score. Kiera Fieghner helped add to the Vikings point total with free throws and a bucket late. The Vikings kept it close but were unable to grab the lead late.
