Good Afternoon Western Avenue School Families,
I am honored to be the principal of Western Avenue School. This is my second year as the principal at Western and my second year in Geneva School District 304. I had an amazing first year at Western, and I look forward to this upcoming year. Prior to coming to Geneva, I spent 21 years as a teacher, assistant principal and principal in Oswego School District 308. I served as the Homestead Elementary School principal from 2017-2023. I also was the assistant principal at Churchill Elementary School from 2011-2017. As a teacher, I taught 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades from 2002-2011.
In my career, I have learned and grown as an educator and have developed my own beliefs on what is important in education. I am very student-centered and hands-on with what is going on in the classroom. I believe in supporting the growth of students academically, socially, and emotionally. ALL students can learn and have the ability for growth. The safety and wellness of your children is a top priority. I want you to be assured that your students will be able to learn and grow in a safe environment. I believe and value collaborative relationships between home, school and the community. My door is always open, and I encourage ongoing communication between home and school.
I look forward to this school year and the partnership we will create in ensuring your children’s success. This will be an incredible year!
