Good afternoon Western Avenue School Families:
I am honored and thrilled to be the principal of Western Avenue School. This is my first year as the principal of Western Avenue School and my first year in Geneva School District 304. Prior to this year, I spent the last 21 years as a teacher, assistant principal and principal in Oswego School District 308. In my most recent position, I served as the Homestead Elementary School principal from 2017-2023. I also was the assistant principal at Churchill Elementary School from 2011-2017. As a teacher, I taught 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades from 2002-2011.
In my career, I have learned and grown as an educator and have developed my own beliefs on what is important in education. I am very student-centered and hands-on with what is going on in the classroom. I believe in supporting the growth of students academically, socially, and emotionally. ALL students can learn and have the ability for growth. The safety and wellness of your children is a top priority. I want you to be assured that your students will be able to learn and grow in a safe environment. I believe and value collaborative relationships between home, school and the community. My door is always open and I encourage ongoing communication between home and school.
I look forward to this school year and the partnership we will create in ensuring your children’s success. This will be an incredible year!
